Divya Deshmukh created history by becoming the first Indian woman to win the FIDE Women’s Chess World Cup 2025, defeating veteran Koneru Humpy in the final held in Batumi, Georgia. FIDE Women’s World Cup 2025 is a prestigious 107-player knockout tournament conducted by the International Chess Federation (FIDE) to determine top contenders for the Women’s Candidates Tournament 2026.Held in Batumi, Georgia, from 5 July to 29 July 2025. It was the third edition of the Women’s Chess World Cup.
