PM GatiShakti Summit:
- The ‘PM GatiShakti Summit: Towards Logistics Efficiency and Integrated Infrastructure Planning’, organized by the Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FICCI), in collaboration with the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) took place in New Delhi.
AU SFB appoints former RBI Deputy Governor HR Khan as non-executive chairman:
- Private sector lender AU Small Finance Bank on Tuesday informed exchanges that it has appointed Harun Rashid Khan, former deputy governor of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), as non-executive chairman following approval from the shareholders.

- Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to address India’s first-of-its-kind mobility show, which aims to showcase the country’s growing role as a global hub for mobility.
FIH Hockey’s Men’s World Cup Oman 2024:
- India finished at the fifth spot in the inaugural FIH Hockey’s Men’s World Cup Oman 2024 in Muscat after defeating Egypt in their final game by 6-4.
- India took a strong lead in the first half with five goals to Egypt’s one.
Khelo India games:
- Maharashtra bagged the overall championship for the fourth time in six editions with 57 gold, 48 silver, and 53 bronze for a total of 158 medals.
- Host Tamil Nadu ended second in the medal tally with a total of 97 medals, including 38 gold, 20 silver, and 39 bronze while Haryana finished third with 35 gold, 22 silver, and 46 bronze.

- World Interfaith Harmony Week is celebrated annually in the first week of February.

Ramsar sites:
- India increases its tally of Ramsar sites to 80 by adding 5 more wetlands to the list.
- The announcement of adding five more sites, three in Karnataka and two in Tamil Nadu, to the list was made by the Federal Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change Bhupender Yadav.
Import duty on mobile phone components:
- The government has slashed the import duty by 5 percent on some parts used for manufacturing mobile phones.
- According to a Finance Ministry notification, duty has been lowered on components such as battery cover, front cover, middle cover, main lens, back cover, GSM Antenna, SIM socket, screw, and other mechanical items of plastic and metal.
RBI’s Digital Payments Index:
- The Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) Digital Payments Index, a measure of the extent of digitization of payments across the country, increased to 418.77 in September 2023 from 395.57 in March 2023.
Retail inflation for industrial workers:
- Retail inflation for industrial workers eased marginally to 4.91% in December from 4.98% in November 2023, mainly due to lower prices of certain food items.
