Latest NSSO consumer survey indicates poverty down to 5%:
- National Sample Survey Office, under the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation, released data on household consumption expenditure for the year 2022-23 which shows per capita monthly household expenditure more than doubled in 2022-23 as compared to 2011-12.
Exercise Dharma Guardian:
- The 5th edition of Joint Military Exercise ‘DHARMA GUARDIAN’ between the Indian Army and the Japan Ground Self Defence Force commenced at Mahajan Field Firing Ranges in Rajasthan.
- The Exercise is scheduled to be conducted from 25th February to 9th March 2024.
UAE removed from money laundering ‘grey list’:
- UAE was removed from the Paris-based Financial Action Task Force (FATF Grey List), a list also known as jurisdiction under increased monitoring list, which includes countries that are actively working with the FATF to address strategic deficiencies in their regimes to counter money laundering, terrorist financing, and proliferation financing.

- Geeta Batra, a distinguished India-born economist, has been appointed as the Director of the Independent Evaluation Office of the World Bank’s Global Environment Facility (GEF). This historic appointment makes her the first woman from a developing country to hold this prestigious position.
