Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina’s two-day State visit to India:

  • Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina made a two-day state visit to India from 21st to 22nd June ,2024 and was the first state guest to be hosted by India after the formation of the new government.
  • This was the 3rd consecutive time India and Bangladesh partnered and established bilateral ties with each other.

Union Health Minister JP Nadda Launched STOP Diarrhoea Campaign 2024:

  • Union Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda , the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), Government of India (GoI) launched the National STOP Diarrhoea Campaign 2024.
  • The slogan of the campaign is: “Diarrhoea ki Roktham, Safai aur ORS se rakhen apna dhyaan”.

INSILLION Enables Royal Sundaram General Insurance:

  • INSILLION, a New York, United States of America (USA)-based leading Insurtech Software as a Service (SaaS) platform, has partnered with Royal Sundaram General Insurance Co. Ltd (RSGI), and the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), to revolutionise travel insurance delivery.

Muthoot Microfin Secured Corporate Agent Licence From IRDAI:

  • Muthoot Microfin Limited (MML) has secured a corporate agent licence from the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) to provide insurance products to its consumers while increasing its income and earnings.

India’s FY24 CAD declines to 0.7% of GDP from 2% in FY23:

  • India’s FY24 CAD reduces to 0.7% of GDP from 2% in FY23, records surplus of 0.6% in Q4The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) states that India’s Current Account Deficit (CAD) reduced to 0.7% of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) (USD 23.2 billion) in the Financial Year 2023-2024(FY 24) from 2% of GDP (USD 67 billion) in FY23.
  • India’s current account recorded a surplus of USD 5.7 billion, or 0.6% of the GDP during the January-March 2024 quarter of FY24, driven by a lower merchandise trade deficit.
  • In Q3 FY24, the CAD was USD 8.7 billion (1% of GDP).

IB Chief Tapan Kumar Deka & NHRC Secretary General Bharat Lal Gets One Year Extension in Service:

  • The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet(ACC) headed by Prime Minister(PM) Narendra Modi has approved a one-year extension in service to Tapan Kumar Deka as the Director of Intelligence Bureau (IB) beyond 30th June 2024 or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

MoD Signed 350th iDEX Contract With SpacePixxel To Develop Miniaturised Multi-Payload Satellites:

  • The Ministry of Defence (MoD) signed a contract with Bengaluru (Karnataka)- based SpacePixxel Technologies Private Limited to design and develop a Miniaturised Satellite capable of carrying multiple advanced payloads up to 150 kgs for the Indian Air Force (IAF).

ISRO Successfully Conducts “Pushpak” Reusable Launch Vehicle (RLV) 3rd Consecutive Landing Experiment:

  • The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) conducted the “Pushpak”– Reusable Launch Vehicle Autonomous Landing EXperiment (RLV-LEX-03) at the Aeronautical Test Range (ATR) in Chitradurga, Karnataka.

International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking 2024:

  • The United Nations (UN) International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking (also known as World/International Drug Day) is annually observed across the globe on 26 June to raise awareness of the significant societal issues caused by illicit drugs and strengthen action and cooperation for an international society free of drug abuse.

Tata Sons to Build ₹650 Crore ‘Museum of Temples’ in Ayodhya:

  • The Uttar Pradesh Cabinet approved Tata Sons’ proposal to build a ‘museum of temples’ in Ayodhya, a project worth Rs 650 crore to be funded through Tata’s corporate social responsibility fund.

NASA, SpaceX Launches Game-Changing Weather Satellite GOES-U:

  • SpaceX has launched NASA’s final satellite for the NOAA program, enhancing continuous weather monitoring across the Western Hemisphere.
  • This launch improves the US ability to monitor solar flares from eight-hour intervals to every 30 minutes.

India’s External Debt Reaches $663.8 Billion by End-March 2024:

  • India’s external debt increased by $39.7 billion to $663.8 billion at end-March 2024, according to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).
  • Despite the rise, the external debt to GDP ratio fell to 18.7% from 19.0% at end-March 2023.

  • Paraguay has officially become the 100th full member of the International Solar Alliance (ISA), marking a significant milestone in global solar energy cooperation.

  • Mrs. Aksha Mohit Kamboj has been appointed as the Vice President of the India Bullion Jewellers Association (IBJA), effective from June 22, 2024.
