Ladakh marked a significant step in promoting science-based tourism with the successful conclusion of its first-ever Astro Tourism Festival in Leh. Organized by the Tourism Department of Ladakh in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Astrophysics (IIA), Bangalore, the two-day festival aimed to harness Ladakh’s unique natural advantages—such as high altitude, dry climate, and low light pollution—to position the region as a leading destination for astro tourism.
