11th Ayurveda Day:
The 11th Ayurveda Day was celebrated by the Ministry of Ayush in Nagpur with the theme “Ayurveda for a Healthy Future.”The celebrations witnessed the release of Safety Dossiers on Gokshura (Tribulus terrestris) and Chandrashura (Lepidium sativum), Standard Treatment Guidelines for dermatological disorders, and the “From Traditional Wisdom to Global Leadership: Ayush Vision 2030” Report.Ayurveda is an ancient science of life (over 5,000 years old) with roots in the Rigveda, derived from Ayu (life) and Veda (knowledge). Its core aim is to maintain health in the healthy and treat illness in the diseased.Ayurveda defines health as a balance between doshas (bio-energies), agni (metabolic fire), dhatus (body tissues), malas (waste elimination), and harmony of body, mind and spirit.Ayurveda uses the medicinal properties of plants, animal products and minerals, with classical knowledge documented in texts such as the Charaka Samhita and Sushruta Samhita.Ayurveda Day is observed annually on 23 September to promote Ayurveda as an ancient Indian system of medicine and enhance its global recognition.
