Dolphin Conservation in Gujarat:
Gujarat has recorded more than 680 dolphins along its 4,087-km coastline, highlighting the State’s growing importance in marine biodiversity conservation.The latest dolphin survey covered major coastal and marine areas of Gujarat, especially the Gulf of Kutch, which has emerged as a key dolphin habitat.Dolphins were recorded across the Marine National Park and Marine Sanctuary, the southern and northern Gulf of Kutch, and coastal areas of Bhavnagar and Morbi, showing a wider distribution along Gujarat’s coast.Gujarat’s marine waters commonly host Indo-Pacific Humpback Dolphins and Bottlenose Dolphins.
