It serves as an official review of the Indian economy over the previous 12 months, detailing performance across various sectors and providing a roadmap for future reforms.The document is prepared by the Economics Division of the Department of Economic Affairs (DEA). It is authored under the overall guidance of the Chief Economic Advisor (CEA) and released only after the approval of the Union Finance Minister.
