India to host IATA’s Annual Global Airline Summit after 42 years:

  • India will host the world’s premier aviation event, the annual general meeting (AGM) of the International Air Transport Association (IATA), next year, after a gap of 42 years.
  • This will be the third time the IATA AGM — considered one of the most significant events in the aviation industry’s calendar —has convened in Delhi, after 1958 and 1983.

Adani One launches two variants of co-branded credit cards with ICICI Bank:

  • Adani One, the digital platform of the Adani Group, and ICICI Bank announced the launch of two variants of co-branded credit cards in collaboration with card network Visa.
  • The co-branded credit card partnership marks the Adani Group’s foray into the retail financial sector.

SBI joins the Rs 8-trillion m-cap league; eyes $100 billion m-cap:

  • The State Bank of India (SBI) became the first public sector bank and the seventh Indian company to cross the Rs 8 trillion market capitalization (m-cap).
  • HDFC Bank and ICICI Bank are the only other lenders with m-cap of over Rs 8 trillion.

Axis Bank, Bajaj Allianz forge strategic bancassurance partnership:

  • Axis Bank, a private sector bank, and Bajaj Allianz General Insurance, a private general insurer, have entered a strategic bancassurance partnership to boost insurance penetration and financial inclusion in the country.
  • Under this Bancassurance tie-up, a comprehensive suite of Bajaj Allianz General Insurance products will be distributed through Axis Bank’s network.

RBI Cancels 10-Year Green Bond Auction For the 1st Time Due to Lack of Greenium:

  • The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) cancelled the planned auction of 10-year green bonds, as traders refused to pay the greenium.
  • The cancellation to the absence of a “greenium,” indicates investors’ reluctance to accept lower yields.

PraVaHa’: ISRO Develops CFD Software For Aerodynamic Design and Analysis:

  • The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has developed the Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software named Parallel RANS Solver for Aerospace Vehicle Aero-thermo-dynamic Analysis (PraVaHa).
  • This software was developed at ISRO’s Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC), Trivandrum, Kerala.

  • The European Parliament elections this week will determine representatives who negotiate EU laws with member state governments, ensuring citizens’ representation in the EU.
  • European Parliament is the directly elected legislative body of the European Union (EU).

  • ICAR has commercialised herbicide-tolerant (Ht) basmati rice varieties that can control weeds
  • Direct Seeded Rice (DSR) is a modern rice cultivation technique where rice seeds are directly sown into the field, replacing the traditional method of transplanting seedlings from a nursery.

‘Phenome India’ Project:

  • CSIR concluded the first phase of its longitudinal health monitoring project, Phenome India, and organised a special event, Phenome India Unboxing 1.0.
