Honorary Army General:
The Chief of Army Staff of the Indian Army, General Upendra Dwivedi, has been conferred the rank of Honorary General of the Nepal Army by President Ramchandra Paudel during a ceremony at Sheetal Niwas, Nepal. The tradition of exchanging honorary generalships between the Indian and Nepali armies began in the 1950s to symbolize mutual respect and cooperation.
